Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. Part of my search-for-breakfast-in-Akasaka series. I had heard there was a cafe near the Aomori antenna shop (a prefectural showcase store) serving morning sets, so I decided to check it out. I wondered if it was some kind of Aomori-themed cafe, but when I got there, while it was indeed next to the Aomori antenna shop, it was actually a cafe inside a sleek capsule hotel called First Cabin Akasaka. You can enter via the outside stairs, or take the stairs or elevator up from inside. More accurately, it feels like a cafe space right in front of the front desk.
Well, in any case, having a morning set available is much appreciated! Going inside, there were a few groups here and there — perhaps hotel guests? The setup is that you order at the counter, and they bring it to your table while you wait.
Thick-cut toast set — 420 yen
Plain hot dog set — 520 yen
Soufflé pancake set — 520 yen
Hmm, toast sounded fine too, but I chose the plain hot dog set. It is great that all come with a drink and a boiled egg. For the drink, I went with iced coffee.
First, the salad and coffee arrived.
The coffee was an iced coffee with a fairly pronounced acidity. Good. The salad had French dressing.
And then the hot dog appeared. The moment it arrived I squirted ketchup on it, ha.
Taking a bite, the outside was toasted crisp and tasty. Well, it was good, but it is just a simple hot dog with a sausage tucked in a bun. And with this comes the boiled egg. It had been momentarily forgotten, but when I asked, “There’s an egg included, right?”, they brought it over.
It was a neatly cooked boiled egg and easy to peel. When you make them at home, they sometimes end up all crumbly and torn. I wonder how they do it.

So, getting a salad, boiled egg, coffee, and hot dog for 520 yen is quite cheap. Perfect for breakfast. Plus, being inside a hotel, it is cool, clean, and comfortable, and there are not many overnight guests on weekdays, so it might be quite a nice hidden gem. This place is surprisingly viable. It is a rare find for breakfast in Akasaka, making this a valuable option, so I recommend it!
