THE BIFTEKI, Akasaka-mitsuke: Harami at Lunch

A note on the words: Akasaka-mitsuke is an office and dining district in central Tokyo. Bifteki is the shop’s spelling of beefsteak, and the run of names built on it — Bifusuma, Bifuchiki, Sumachiki, Chikiteki — are its own coinages, each a pair of things put on one plate. Harami is the diaphragm cut. One link in this article goes to a Japanese-only article about another shop. Prices are as of this writing (August 2026).

THE BIFTEKI Akasaka-mitsuke on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.

Hey, this is Hangover Meshi. This time for lunch I went to “THE BIFTEKI Akasaka-mitsuke
” — a new shop that had opened up in Akasaka-mitsuke before I even noticed. It used to be a mazesoba shop (in Japanese), but it’s changed completely! The theme now is bifteki (beefsteak), and I’m glad it leans hearty. So I went straight over to try it!

It was only around 11:00, right after opening, and the place was already pretty full.
I guess everyone wants meat. I get it.

THE BIFTEKI Akasaka-mitsuke

Bifteki, chikiteki (chicken steak), and hamburger (smashburger) — three kinds, plus harami (skirt steak).
Hmm, they all look delicious and I can’t decide.

But somehow the harami seemed like it might be a limited item, so I went with the skirt steak!

While waiting for the skirt steak, I checked out the condiments.

Steak sauce, Tabasco, Japanese mustard, and even chili oil — they have it all!

After a while, the M-size skirt steak arrived! Ooh, it looks great!
I asked for a little less rice, but the skirt steak itself was a solid 180 grams. Plenty, really… lol

Next to it, stir-fried vegetables take up almost as much room on the plate as the meat itself. It comes as a set with soup and rice.

So, digging into the skirt steak right away. Yep, it’s skirt steak. Good.
Cut into big chunks, so it’s meat with real substance to it. That distinctive lean, beefy flavor of harami comes through directly, and it’s delicious. The sauce that comes with it is a garlic soy sauce, and of course that works, lol — this is a combination you can just keep eating. And the stir-fried vegetables are great too. The bean sprouts have a good crunch, everything’s cooked just right, and the seasoning on the vegetables pairs nicely with the rice as well.

The Bifusuma set that the friend who came with me ordered.
A set combining a smashburger and beef. This looked great too.
Thinking about it, this is a bifteki restaurant — maybe I should have just ordered the bifteki first… lol

Thank you for the meal!

So, a new steak place, and my overall impression is that it’s pretty good!
The meat was tasty, it came out quickly after ordering, it was delicious, and the stir-fried vegetables were good too. There’s plenty of it, so it fills you right up. As far as I know, Akasaka never really had a casual steak spot besides Ikinari Steak, so having something like this open up near Akasaka-mitsuke feels like it fills a nice gap ^^

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
