A note on the words: harami is the diaphragm cut, close to what a butcher outside Japan would call skirt steak, and it is treated as a prize cut at a Japanese grill. Akasaka is an office and dining district in central Tokyo. Prices are as of this writing (August 2026).

Hi, this is Hangover Meshi. I noticed the other day that a stylish new place had opened up in Akasaka. Looking into it, it seems to have been there since around March! Now that I had finally noticed it, I decided to stop by for lunch. There are terrace-style seats where you can eat while feeling the outside air, and the whole place is just so stylish.

As the NEW YORK in the name suggests, it is Italian, but apparently a popular spot in New York.
Beef harami French-style steak salad set, 2,060 yen
Burrata and berries, 2,300 yen
Pasta lunch, 1,400 yen
Pizza lunch, 1,400 yen

Being Italian, I would guess pizza and pasta are the popular choices.
But that beef harami had me too curious to resist, so I decided to order the meat.
First, the salad that came out.

You can choose rice or bread^^
I did not want either, so honestly I would rather have had a bit more salad instead. The dressing is a champagne honey dressing.
And here is the harami steak!

It comes with two sauces, a regular steak sauce and something like a light, refreshing salt dressing.
The harami steak is tender and easy to eat. The flavor of the red meat comes through concentrated and delicious.
The vegetables on the side are crisp, cooked just a touch under perfectly done, which works out well by the time you get through the plate.
With two different sauces to switch between, it never gets boring — genuinely good.

This is the pasta my companion ordered from the pasta lunch.
“Bolognese Parmigiano short pasta.”
That looked good too.
So, Italian — and now that I look closely, they actually have a pizza oven lol
It occurred to me afterward that pizza might actually be the thing to order here, but I decided to save that for next time. Drinking from the afternoon on that terrace-like seating also seems like it could be nice, and I have a feeling I will be back.

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
