A note on the words: horumon means the offal cuts on a yakiniku menu — intestine, tripe, heart and the rest — grilled over fire at your own table. Kopchang is small intestine, senmai is omasum, the third stomach, here served raw as senmai-zashi. Harami is outside skirt, kalbi short rib, akami the lean cuts. Namul are the seasoned vegetable side dishes, kkakdugi the cubed daikon kimchi. Otoshi is the small appetizer you are charged for on sitting down.

Nakamiya Honten on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Right, this is Hangover Meshi. When a scattered group of us decides to get together in Roppongi and eat yakiniku, the first place that comes to mind is “Nakamiya.” I had not been for quite a while, and the place someone booked this time turned out to be exactly here! Splendid. Time to eat a great deal of yakiniku at Nakamiya for the first time in ages!

That color is Nakamiya, is it not! And what exactly is “the original delicious yakiniku,” ha.
Naturally, the style is to order a scattergun of whatever we feel like, a la carte!
Come to think of it, the memory came back of the old sign saying charcoal-grilled yakiniku, and my thinking — charcoal… grilled?! ha.
It probably was charcoal in the old days, ha.

The otoshi, daikon ^^

Salted tongue — looks good!
Grill it quickly over the hottest part of the fire and take care not to overdo it! A good squeeze of lemon and it is delicious!
Salted tongue eaten first when you are hungry really is delicious.

I ordered the horumon assortment for a start too.
Going in on the offal from the very beginning is a fine thing! And you cannot leave the horumon out at Nakamiya.
The selling point is the freshness of delivery straight from the Shibaura meat market, and the kopchang in particular has a plump, springy texture and a rich savor that is superb.
There is enough fat on it that the flames leap up as you grill, and it is a perfect match with white rice!

This is the royal road of yakiniku! I used to think kalbi was the good one — or rather, in the old days there was only kalbi, was there not?!
It is the harami that is delicious. The harami.

Namul mix, ha

Kimchi and kkakdugi added as well!

The lean cuts are the delicious ones! They really are.
I drank a fair bit, so I ended up completely full! But it was delicious!
Nakamiya for the first time in ages, and delicious! The unfussy atmosphere where you can eat without standing on ceremony is good, and the value is good compared with the other yakiniku places in Roppongi, ha. I want to use it again somewhere! For anyone who comes to Roppongi often, I recommend it highly as your everyday yakiniku!

Tabelog dinner rating ★★★☆☆ 3.5
I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
