A note on the words: horumon refers to beef offal, the house specialty grilled entirely by the staff. Hangoroshi kimchi is an intensely spicy pickle, while jo-tan-shio is high-grade salted beef tongue. Other cuts named along the way include hoso (small intestine), ago-niku (cheek meat), harami (outside skirt), and yagen nankotsu, the soft keel cartilage, with chilled reimen noodles served to conclude the course.

Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. This time I paid a long-overdue visit to “Futago” near the Roppongi crossing.
The staff grill everything for you, which makes things so easy! And it’s pretty inexpensive too!

【Horumon Feast “Futago-mori” Plump and Tender Course】with 2-hour all-you-can-drink — 4,980 yen
Here is the course. Coming in under 5,000 yen with all-you-can-drink included is a great deal.
First come two kinds of dipping sauces.
To be honest, the staff grill everything for you and even drop the pieces right into your sauce, ha, so…
…you don’t have to think about anything at all.

Here is the hangoroshi kimchi.
It is incredibly spicy, but delicious!
You could drink on this alone. I wonder if it’s based on karashi takana (spicy pickled mustard greens). I’d love some of this at home.

Jo-tan-shio (upper-grade salted beef tongue). I have a feeling Futago’s strategy was ‘half the portion of good meat at half the price’, so I will set aside that it looks a bit small. Truth be told, with salted tongue this kind of amount is plenty satisfying. Tender and delicious!

Since they do everything for you, I wasn’t really paying much attention to what they were saying, ha.
I feel like it was hoso (salted small intestine), chopped fillet, never-ending ago-niku (cheek meat), or something like that, but every piece is placed in the ideal sauce at the optimal moment, so it’s truly relaxing not having to worry about a thing!

I think it was maybe the legendary harami (outside skirt)? ha, or the never-ending ago-niku (cheek meat)? ha… something like that…

I love yagen nankotsu (cartilage). With the surrounding fat left on, it is delicious.

A massive cut of meat made for visual impact!

The rest of the horumon is thrown right on the grill all at once!
Slightly spicy and delicious! After that came cold reimen noodles and dessert to finish.
It really is great having everything grilled for you so you can just focus on your drinks and conversation.
That said, the weak point is that I wasn’t paying much attention to what I was actually eating, or rather, I don’t really remember!
It seems plausible that having the staff do the grilling keeps the table turnover faster than letting customers do it themselves, ha. Well, it’s cheap, so I’d definitely like to come back!

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
