A note on the words: hamburg steak, called hambagu in Japan, refers to seasoned ground meat patties served on a plate rather than inside a bun, here served as a 300g portion of two patties alongside fries. Spätzle is a type of soft German egg noodle, here served with cream sauce as a savory companion to beer.

BRAUERTAFEL Atre Takeshiba ten on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. I had something to do in Takeshiba, so I headed over to Atre! Being right by the water, this area feels great to visit during the day. In the Tower Building, there is Seafood Republic, which I visited last time. Well, since I had already been there last time, I figured somewhere else would be good this time, and found a beer restaurant on the first floor of the Tower Building where it looked like I could get a beer! The name is “BRAUERTAFEL”. The dining room is very spacious, and perhaps because it was just after 11:00, it was so empty! It was practically like having the whole place to myself! What could be better than drinking beer at a leisurely pace? So I decided to go on in.

Platter of four sausages — 2,800 yen
300g wild hamburg with two beers — 4,700 yen

Come to think of it, Gekidan Shiki (the Shiki theater company) is around here.
It seems there is a collaboration menu with Atre: two bottles of the Shiki beer and the wild hamburg!
Well, for now I went ahead and ordered whatever caught my eye.

Here is the Shiki original lager!
It was my first time seeing it, but it says “since 1953”! The Shiki original lager. It is very crisp and easy to drink.
And then the 300g wild hamburg steak.

The 300g hamburg comes as two 150g patties. There are onion chips and quite a lot of french fries in there too. Basically you get two hamburg steaks and two bottles of original beer, so unless there are two of you it seems like it would be pretty tough, so be careful.

If I had realized the wild hamburg came with so many potatoes, I might not have ordered them, ha.
It turned into a whole potato festival.

Something like German pasta? Egg noodles that go amazingly well with cream sauce. They pair wonderfully with beer, almost like an appetizer.

These are also quite hefty sausages. Four kinds are plenty. All of them are plump, juicy sausages and very delicious!
At this rate, there was way too much food! I ordered another beer! Hofbräu!

Man, so good! Drinking beer leisurely in a nice, cool space that was practically all to myself — nothing beats it.
Still, I wonder why it is so empty here — maybe it gets crowded toward the evening? It feels like quite an undiscovered spot! Perhaps it suddenly fills up all at once when the Gekidan Shiki programs finish. I thought an early lunch was quite worth recommending! There seems to be something like a water bus departing right in front, and apparently you can take a boat all the way to Toyosu, Tokyo Big Sight, or Asakusa, so once it cools down a bit, I would like to come back just for that.

Tabelog lunch rating ★★★☆☆ 3.5
I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
