A note on the words: a porterhouse is the cut that carries both the strip and the tenderloin on one bone, and a tomahawk is a ribeye left on its long rib. Poke is the Hawaiian dish of cubed raw fish. Marunouchi is the office district beside Tokyo Station. Prices are in US dollars and are as they stood at the time of the visit.

Morton’s The Steakhouse Las Vegas NV on Tabelog (in Japanese) — Tabelog has no English pages for restaurants outside Japan, so this listing is in Japanese. Opening hours and payment details are kept up to date there, not here.
Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. When you come to America it has to be steeeeeak, does it not? So this time, to “Morton’s The Steakhouse Las Vegas NV.” Looking it up after I got home, Morton’s The Steakhouse is in Japan too, apparently in Marunouchi. Perhaps I shall go sometime. It is said to be a long-established steakhouse, and since I never get to eat steak in its home country I was looking forward to it!

Slightly off from the center of Las Vegas, I suppose.
Step inside and the atmosphere is tremendous, but it is very dark lol
For now, not really knowing what was what, I left it to them lol
Seafood, and for the steak, whatever was good brought out however they saw fit. It was a help having someone along who speaks proper English ^^
First, a large loaf of bread ^^
This seems to be a standard thing at Morton’s The Steakhouse lol The tear-it-and-share-it method.

There was a GRAND and an EPIC, and this is the GRAND, I believe.
The chef’s oysters on the half shell, and cold-water lobster tail.
Jumbo shrimp cocktail, crab and tuna poke! Rather nice. Quite the spread.

These sauces are the use-them-as-you-like sort.
The jumbo shrimp cocktail has real substance to it, and it is big!
Honestly, I want every shrimp cocktail in Japan replaced with this. The lobster is on the small side, but we are about to eat steak. Plenty. I was a little uneasy about raw oysters abroad so I passed mine to someone who does not mind lol The crab had firm meat, so it may have been something like king crab. I ate proper poke for the first time in an unexpected place, and it is delicious!

Apparently there is no such thing as a highball in America, so when you order a whiskey soda this is generally the shape it takes — literally just whiskey cut with soda. It is a little different from the highball as we know it in Japan, the lighter kind you can gulp down; this is properly strong ^^ It is delicious, mind you.

I believe these were the 36-ounce tomahawk ribeye and the 36-ounce dry-aged porterhouse that were on the FOR THE TABLE section! A help-yourself-from-here sort of style. Quite the sight, is it not. This goes for all the foreign steakhouse chains that have landed in Japan, but the look of it is bold, and being aged it is very tender and easy to eat, which is the best part.

A side ^^

Another side. The sauteed spinach was extremely good.
So: meat and drink flowing freely, and I was full!
To finish, perhaps a little dessert.

This left me completely full lol That was gooooood!!!!
I ate proper steak in America!! — a fine memory made. It was delicious. That said, it was not a case of being entirely different from the steakhouses that have landed in Japan, so I concluded that the places that do come to Japan really do keep their quality up ^^ A more local sort of steak might bring out more of an American feel. Since I have now been to the home-country branch, next time I shall go to the Marunouchi Morton’s The Steakhouse.

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
