A note on the words: ciabatta is a flat Italian bread, burrata a fresh cheese with a soft cream center, and Grana Padano a hard aged cheese from northern Italy. Pescatore is pasta with seafood. A calzone is a pizza folded shut before baking. Prices are in US dollars and are as they stood at the time of the visit.

Il Fornaio Las Vegas on Tabelog (in Japanese) — Tabelog has no English pages for restaurants outside Japan, so this listing is in Japanese. Opening hours and payment details are kept up to date there, not here.
Right, this is Hangover Meshi. For the last dinner, to the Italian restaurant inside the hotel, “Il Fornaio.” I wanted to talk at leisure and look back on this trip to the States, so I picked somewhere a little calmer. Well, it is beside the casino floor, so how calm it really is may be a question, but you can hold a conversation far better than anywhere else ^^
Here too the style is to look at the menu and order what you want a la carte!
Beer first.
In Japan there are shops where you order a beer and it comes in a glass so small you think, really? lol Nowhere in America does that, which makes it a fine country! I do wish shops in Japan would charge what they need to and serve a proper amount without fudging it!

A plate where ciabatta, a flat Italian bread, is made into garlic toast and served with three toppings.
Just looking at it, does it not look tremendous lol
Porcini and truffle, roasted cherry tomatoes, and burrata cheese I think. The garlic comes through and goes extremely well with the crisp bread. This makes you want wine!

Meat first, obviously! So I had them grill some ^^

A slab of meat!! A decent size and very shareable. Tender and delicious!
There is something in the idea that if you come to an Italian place you have to eat meat. And the mushroom sauce on top is delicious in its own right.

One nice thing about menus abroad is that they actually write out everything that is in the dish underneath.
Menus in Japan are not like that, so they feel rather unhelpful, I find myself thinking. This is carpaccio, and as you would expect from the home of it — Piedmont beef carpaccio. There is even a story that it was the Japanese who first used fish in carpaccio lol
The cheese is Grana Padano. It is dressed with capers, arugula, lemon and olive oil. Delicious!

Now, I had a feeling the portions would be large, so we ordered pasta and pizza to share as well.
For the pasta I chose from something like a specials-of-the-day list — pescatore!
Salmon, white fish, scallops, shrimp and squid, sauteed and tossed in a lightly spicy marinara sauce.
An Italian restaurant, as you would expect, so of course it is delicious ^^

A calzone is a folded pizza, the dough folded into a crescent and baked shut.
I had not registered that at all, so I was slightly startled when it arrived folded ^^
Inside there is a pistachio and arugula salad, burrata, pistachio paste and Calabrese, seasoned on the spicy side.
The springy pizza dough is delicious! It leans on the pistachio and the flavor comes through properly. Very good.
Even sharing it, I ended up full! Thoroughly satisfied.
It was the last dinner, but being able to have it inside the hotel meant I could get ready for the trip home with plenty of time to spare, which was good. On this trip I used the hotel restaurants a fair amount, and four-star hotels have more usable restaurants than five-star ones, so there may even be a case for picking a hotel that fits your station in life lol It was fun.

Tabelog dinner rating ★★★☆☆ 3.7
I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
