A note on the words: a bikini in Spanish cuisine is a toasted ham-and-cheese sandwich. Jamon is dry-cured Spanish ham, bellota indicates free-range acorn-fed Iberian pigs, and pintxos are small bite-sized tapas typically eaten by hand. A la plancha means seared on a flat iron griddle, bunuelos are light fritters, and paella is rice cooked in broth in a wide, shallow pan. In this lunch course, the bikini sandwich, said to be the house specialty, and the pintxos open the meal before the fish, paella, and grilled pork.

BIKiNi SIS on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. It had been a while since I visited Roppongi Hills, and thinking to myself how little had changed with hardly any shop turnover, I headed toward the Spanish restaurant “BIKiNi SIS”. Everything had been arranged for me — the venue chosen and the course reserved in advance — making for a truly pampered lunch, something I was very grateful for. Entering the restaurant, I was guided to a table toward the back.

It really had been a while. At the tables in the back, the aisle seats give you a view outside through the window, which feels wonderful.
On the flip side, if you sit near the window, I wonder if you get a view of the kitchen bustling away, ha.
Lunch course 3500 — 3,500 yen
Lunch course 5500 — 5,500 yen
This time, they had booked the Lunch Course 5500 for me.
And so, the lunch course began.

Apparently this is the house specialty.
Cured ham and cheese are sandwiched between slices of crisply toasted bread.
Because it is bite-sized, you pick it up easily with your fingers and take a bite — delicious! The cured ham and rich mozzarella make an outstanding combination.

Pintxos! Small bites eaten by hand that pair wonderfully with drinks! From the right:
- Cod bunuelos — light cod-and-potato fritters
- Shrimp, crab and mayonnaise (this is delicious!!)
- Something with olives (what was it again?)
- Chicken liver pate
- Spanish omelet

There is a faint touch of garlic.
Still, the smell does not bother you at all. It is a gentle flavor, and quite delicious!

First came the paella. However, they told us to enjoy it together with the fish that would come out next.
And here is what arrived! And then – we were told to break it apart and mix it all together.

Mixing it all together.

Delicious! The flavor of seafood is thoroughly soaked into the rice.
Well, paella is this kitchen’s signature after all, so it is thoroughly delicious!

Since this was the 5,500-yen course, there were two mains! It also comes with grilled pork. Luxurious!
Tender and delicious! It is quite substantial, so it definitely fills you up.

Overall, the food is certainly good, but the time it took, ha. Lunch took over two hours and still everything had not come out; there was coffee after the meal at the end, but out of time, ha — I excused myself and left ahead of the others. I imagine when it gets crowded the floor simply cannot keep up, but unless you go with plenty of time to spare, this place might be tricky, ha.

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
