A note on the words: asador is a Spanish-style grill restaurant centered on wood- or charcoal-roasted meats. Ishigaki beef is Japanese wagyu cattle raised on subtropical Ishigaki Island in Okinawa, known for clean, sweet fat and savory lean meat. Ichibo refers to the rump cap (top sirloin cap), while ranpu is the lean rump cut. Ajillo is a Spanish tapas dish of shrimp and mushrooms simmered in sizzling garlic olive oil, served here with baguette slices.

ASADOR EL CIELO on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. Today’s drinking party was at ASADOR EL CIELO, near Mikawadai Park along Roppongi-dori on the way from Roppongi toward Roppongi-itchome. Steak? Oyster bar? The concept seems to be enjoying meat along with wine. Walking into an entrance that feels slightly semi-basement, inside there is a counter, a large table, and private rooms here and there.

The Asador course — 6,600 yen
Ishigaki beef tasting course — 8,000 yen
This time, we went with the Ishigaki beef tasting.
A great-value plan featuring six dishes in all, complete with all-you-can-drink.
For the all-you-can-drink, you order as you go by scanning a QR code on the table. We started off with a firm reminder that glasses are one-for-one replacement only! ha
Well, I imagine they get plenty of customers who order drinks at a furious pace, ha.
And what arrived first was.

The acidity of the lemon dressing and balsamic vinegar is delicious! So this is what a Spanish-style green salad is like.

Assorted appetizers. Pate, duck, fish, and cheese—quite a variety and very luxurious!
Just right as nibbles for drinks. Time to settle in and enjoy the all-you-can-drink for a while.

Ajillo! It is piping hot, so I eat carefully, ha.
Pieces of baguette come alongside, so eating it on bread is delicious! Shrimp and mushroom ajillo.

The meat was on the slightly chewy side, but that meaty heft goes well with alcohol!
Both are lean cuts, so it is nice that they eat cleanly. The ichibo has a pleasant, sweet fat without being greasy, making for a tender lean cut.
The ranpu has less fat compared to cuts like rosu (loin) and is rich in iron and healthy, offering a light fat and a richly flavored lean meat.

The finale was chicken paella.
Having made it this far, I finally realized that this place is in fact a Spanish bar (bar de tapas) style spot, ha.
Apparently it is a popular item on the menu, baked all at once in an authentic charcoal oven at about 500 degrees Celsius so the surface turns crispy. Delicious.

This time, rather than a private room, we were shown to a large table near the counter, but whether by chance no other customers appeared, leaving it virtually private and very comfortable. With all-you-can-drink included, this price leaves quite a reasonable impression. Since there were three hours of all-you-can-drink, considering that, I had a slight feeling that we could have ordered a few more dishes, but it was delicious!

Tabelog dinner rating ★★★☆☆ 3.3
I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
