A note on the words: hama-yaki is a beach-style grilling method for shellfish, one of three preparations in the oyster trio here alongside a basil-butter grill and a sea urchin (uni) sauce.

Red Lobster on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Hey, this is Hangover Meshi. This is basically a tradition by now. Seventh time? lol
A regular Red Lobster visit. It’s perfect for a little celebration! I’ll go to Odaiba practically just to come here at this point. Right around opening, about 11 a.m., it’s usually pretty empty. This time too I got there early and snagged a booth! All right, let’s eat!

The usual scene. Prices keep creeping up little by little along with the general rise in the cost of living.
It used to be a place you could visit pretty casually, but it’s well past family-restaurant territory by now, so I doubt many people can just splurge here on a whim. That said, I have a special attachment to Red Lobster, so no matter how expensive it gets, I’m still going!!!
Live Lobster, Large — 17,990 yen
The price hasn’t changed since April! Holding steady ^^ I’ll browse the menu and just order whatever looks good.
First, a beer!

And of course, live lobster is a must!
Large, naturally. This is what I came here to eat!

For a moment I thought it looked kind of slender for a large, but I went ahead and ordered it as is.
The reason behind that odd feeling became clear a little later ^^

I want them to bring out a large size about three times this big! Fine for lunch, but this wouldn’t be enough at dinner!

Regular size. It’s lunch, after all. This is plenty ^^

Three each of the hama-yaki-style (beach-grilled), basil butter grilled, and uni-sauce oysters!
Honestly, a set with one of each kind would have been ideal, but since that wasn’t an option, I figured this would do and went with the nine-piece set. The uni sauce has that sea urchin flavor to it, though the sauce is maybe a touch strong. The basil one is delicious! Though at some point it starts to feel not that different from a mussel, and in the end the plain hama-yaki-style might be my favorite! The other two have such a strong sauce that you barely notice the lemon, but the hama-yaki-style pairs perfectly with it! Anyway, eating this many oysters really starts to fill you up ^^

Whoa, that claw is huge lol lol
I didn’t pay it much mind at first, but this one’s left claw is absurdly huge lol lol lol
Ah, I see — since they’re graded by total weight, when the claw is this massive the body ends up looking slender by comparison.

The staff cracks it open for you, but the claw just won’t give lol They just barely managed to crack it, but there’s no way you could crack this yourself without a cracker lol
You can’t even snap the little claw finger off to pull the shell away lol lol lol
So, left with no choice, I dig into the claw with the seafood spoon!
Delicious! Though the claw meat is so big it feels a little bit bland from the size alone lol lol
Still, you don’t often get the chance to eat a claw this huge, so I’m happy!

This part of the meat is plump and springy, juicy and delicious —!
Freshly steamed meat with that bounce to it is the best. Steaming really is the way to go with lobster!
So, I only ordered four things this time, but that was more than enough to fill me up lol Eating lobster once in a while really gives me the energy to keep going! So, Red Lobster, please stay in Odaiba for a long, long time to come!!! I think I’ll come back again before too long. Next time, I’ll have some crab too.

Tabelog lunch rating ★★★☆☆ 3.8
I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
