Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. I hadn’t had it at all lately, but once in a while you just crave it! Tsukemen! And so, wanting to go eat delicious tsukemen nearby, I headed to Tsukemenya Yasubee Akasaka in Akasaka! Because it is within such easy walking distance, you ironically don’t visit that often ^^ and on top of that, lunchtime is always wildly crowded. So I shifted my timing a bit and showed up around 2:00 PM for a late lunch.
Tsukemen — 920 yen
Spicy tsukemen — 920 yen
Miso tsukemen — 1,020 yen
Spicy miso tsukemen — 1,020 yen
Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen — 920 yen
Shio (salt) ramen — 920 yen
Hmm, I guess as always it has to be the spicy miso tsukemen~.
And since I hadn’t been here in a long time, I added the tokusei (loaded toppings, 520 yen) as well! With a regular portion of noodles!
After a short wait, the tsukemen appeared!
When you add the tokusei toppings, the table ends up completely packed.
Ooh, looks delicious ^^
First, having tsukemen for the first time in ages, taking a bite: delicious.
Yasubee’s soup has a pronounced sweetness that makes it quite distinct. A rich miso flavor coupled with a strong sweetness.
It pairs wonderfully with the chewy, substantial thick noodles made with special wheat flour.
The tokusei comes with char siu, vegetables, an egg, nori seaweed, and boiled dumplings — impressive volume ^^
But this is so good~.
With this much included, well, it makes total sense that it runs about 520 yen. If you add the tokusei, even with a regular noodle serving, you end up stuffed!
At the end, tossing fried onions and katsuobushi flakes into the soup changes up the flavor.
In the end, I finished every last bit.
Maybe I ate a bit too much… I think that every single time, ha. Once the feeling passes, I forget all about it – as the saying goes.
And so, visiting Yasubee for tsukemen after a long time was delicious! When you want tsukemen with a sweetish soup, this shop is definitely recommended! Just be careful to pace your volume or you will be truly full, so keep that in mind ^^. I think it is easy to get a seat if you go outside peak lunchtime.
