Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. Lately I have been really into eating morning soba. The spot I usually go to is a soba shop right near Akasaka-mitsuke Station, but this time I decided to try visiting “Yoshi Soba” in Akasaka, across from TBS. I have been to Yudetaro and Fuji Soba, but this might be my first time at Yoshi Soba. In the morning there were a few office-worker types scattered about before work. Everyone really does turn to soba in the morning, I suppose.
Tanuki — 430 yen

Mini shrimp tempura bowl set — 720 yen
They have a substantial lineup of sets with rice bowls!
Thinking that a mini shrimp tempura bowl set would definitely be too heavy for the morning, I chose tanuki soba.
Chilled tanuki soba happens to be a real favorite of mine.

Very classic. The tsuyu broth is quite light and refreshing. Delicious.
The toppings are pressed wakame seaweed and scallions. Soba is already light on its own, so adding a little punch with tenkasu tempura bits is just the best!
A kakiage fritter would feel a bit heavy, but with tenkasu the lightness is never lost, which is wonderful. Whoever invented chilled tanuki was a genius!
I might actually like the texture of the noodles here better than at the other chains I have visited.
At 430 yen, the price is cheap too! Hmm, quite satisfying!
And so, while this was my first time at “Yoshi Soba,” it was quite good! Neither exceptional nor flawed, just a classic, ordinarily delicious bowl of soba. I thought that whenever I happen to spot a “Yoshi Soba,” it might be nice to drop in once in a while.
