A note on the words: hamburg steak, called hambagu in Japan, is a seasoned minced-meat patty served on a plate without a bun rather than tucked into a hamburger, and at Raimuraito it comes with a distinctive garlic-and-butter cream sauce.

Shunsai Steak Dokoro Raimuraito on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
Hello, this is Hangover Meshi. Now, is this Kojimachi, or more like Ichigaya by now? This time I headed to Raimuraito, a great spot for hamburg steak (a Japanese-style minced-meat patty, served without a bun) tucked just off the slope going up toward Yasukuni Shrine. I had been once before, and it was delicious! So this was a return visit. I arrived around 12:30, but got right in without waiting in line. My timing seems to have been good!

Chicken thigh steak — 1,280 yen
Pork loin steak — 1,380 yen
Special steak rice bowl — 1,480 yen
Special rare-grilled rice bowl — 1,480 yen
Beef loin stuffed with cheese and deep-fried — 1,580 yen
Raimuraito-style hamburg — 1,480 yen
Raimuraito-style cheese hamburg — 1,580 yen
Japanese-style wagyu round roast beef — 2,480 yen
Japanese-style Meijin wagyu loin steak — 3,180 yen

“Now, what to get…” I wondered, scanning the menu.
Since I had the hamburg steak last time, I thought a steak might be nice, but once you arrive and see other customers eating hamburg steak, you just want to eat hamburg steak too! Last time I went with the plain one, so this time I decided on the cheese hamburg.
First came the salad.

Just as I was about finishing the salad, the hamburg steak arrived!

It looks delicious! There is cheese on top, and it is pretty substantial too.
Without hesitation, I took my first bite. As always, this cream sauce with its aroma of garlic and a touch of acidity is wonderful. The butter aroma comes through distinctly as well, delicious. The hamburg itself is finely ground and formed firmly and densely. It is a little dry and mealy, if anything, but somehow it just goes so well with this sauce. It goes wonderfully with rice. Delicious.

The cheese pairs remarkably well with this sauce. I started thinking that cheese might actually be better than the plain after all.
To the staff member who confirmed that for me last time: thank you! For the after-meal drink, I chose iced coffee.

Ah, Raimuraito really is delicious. Having the cheese hamburg this time, I feel my impression of it went up even further. Every once in a while you just crave that garlic-creamy-and-butter sauce, ha. Lately I feel there are a lot of hamburg steak places claiming their creamy sauce goes great with rice! Well, it is certainly delicious, so that makes sense.
I thought I would come back again after a while.

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
