A note on the words: Zushi is a seaside town in Kanagawa, south of Tokyo. Uji is a district near Kyoto known for green tea, matcha is powdered green tea, and azuki are sweet red beans. Prices in this article are as of March 2025.

CREMAHOP Akasaka-mitsuke on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.
So, Hangover Meshi here. This time, to “CREMAHOP,” a new ice cream shop that has opened in Akasaka-mitsuke! I had been walking past the storefront now and then, but this was my first time actually going in. There are original T-shirts on display at the entrance, ha. Stylish. Apparently it is the Akasaka-mitsuke branch of an ice cream shop in Zushi. I figured I would buy a little something by way of introducing myself.

CREMAHOP sells its cup ice cream by the box, priced by the number of cups. You choose as many flavors as you like from the regulars and the limited-time ones.

Dry ice for up to 30 minutes is free, apparently. Nice.
There were limited-time flavors: raspberry royal Earl Grey, “Sun” ice cream, turmeric soy banana, condensed milk sprinkle cake and cognac chocolate — four in the lineup.
There are quite a few regulars too:
Madagascar vanilla, pink salt caramel, chocolate brownie, lavender & blueberry, mocha almond crisp, Ichigo de Ré, raspberry cheesecake, Uji matcha and azuki, cultured-butter rum raisin, honey hazelnut, pistachio, mint chocolate chip, and cookies & cream. Well now, with this many you are bound to dither.
For now I bought a 4-Cup Box, partly as a gift to take home.
Well then. Opening it up back home, there is still plenty of dry ice left.
It sits in there loose, so mind you do not burn your hand reaching in, ha.

These cups are made to stack, so with the 8-Cup Box they must go in a layer on top of this.
And the flavors I picked this time are these!!!

The limited-edition “Sun” ice cream! A limited flavor built around the image of the sunny season in Zushi, apparently, ha.
It tastes of sweet-tart blood orange with an apricot aroma. Refreshing, very easy to eat and delicious! The ice cream here is fairly dense, or rather it has real weight to it, a substantial ice cream with plenty of volume. If anything it is a little heavy, and they pile the cup high, so honestly at around 400 yen I cannot help thinking it is cheap.

A total classic, right! I love it.
A cream ice cream made with plenty of Hokkaido buttermilk, topped with bitter cocoa biscuit. Sweet and tasty! If you cannot decide, this might be the good one.

Another limited flavor. I had been wondering what “sprinkle” meant, and it turns out it is those colorful coated sweet bits. Now that I think of it, I do picture them scattered over ice cream a lot. The base is Hokkaido condensed milk, rich and sweet and tasty!

And this, it turns out, is the number one seller.
A rich caramel ice cream using pink salt from the Himalayas. Salt turned a vivid pink by its abundant minerals, combined with a caramel sauce made carefully from butter. Salty sweet, salty sweet — that is always the best kind, isn’t it. Because the caramel is rich, it works all the better against the cleaner salt. Every one of them is good!
So there you go, a 4-Cup Box of ice cream. Every one of them dense and seriously delicious. I get the feeling there is nowhere in Akasaka where you can casually pick up slightly nice ice cream (there may well be, ha), so a shop like this opening is very welcome! Places around here tend to fold if they are not popular, so maybe I will keep buying for a while to prop it up! It is good, so do stop by if you are nearby!

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
