NIKU-AZABU Roppongi: The Ultimate Course, Drinks Included

A note on the words: yakiniku means you grill your own bite-sized cuts of meat over a burner set into the table. Nomihodai is a fixed-price, all-you-can-drink window that comes bundled with the course. Tan is beef tongue and tan-moto is the thick base of it, the part cooks prize most. Namul is a Korean side of seasoned vegetables, and kimchi needs no introduction. Ikura is salmon roe. Yaki-shabu means a paper-thin slice cooked for a moment on the grill rather than swirled in broth. Trippa is honeycomb tripe. Yaki-suki is grilled beef eaten sukiyaki-style, dipped in raw egg yolk and wrapped around rice.

NIKU-AZABU Roppongi on Tabelog (English) — opening hours, payment details and the Japanese address are kept up to date there, not here.

Hey, this is Hangover Meshi. I feel like my yakiniku rate has been seriously high lately. Whenever I ask someone what they want to eat, yakiniku is what comes back, lol. This time it’s a yakiniku place right beside the Roppongi crossing, “NIKU-AZABU.” It’s exactly the kind of spot for grilling meat while talking loudly and having a good time.

First, the dipping sauces. They explained each one, and even if you don’t remember, every time they bring a cut of meat they point and say
“This one!” — so it’s easy. No need to worry about it!

A Yakiniku Joint’s Bite-Sized Curry

At the end, they call it a bite-sized curry but a pretty decent amount of curry turns up, lol.
I was already full, but somehow I finished it! So stuffed!

Thank you for the meal!

So, yakiniku places swing wildly from one to the next, but for this price, with chicken and pork included, that’s a serious amount of food. And all-you-can-drink on top of it at that price makes this a really good place! You can be as loud as you like, and places like that are genuinely useful. Next time I’m out with people who drink a lot, I’m coming here! It was fun!

I ate here and paid for it myself. Nothing on this site is a comped meal.
